With the finale of Friends soon upon us, I felt it was finally OK to release the following story, which happened at some point during the last few years.
I was shopping at Tower Video up on Sunset Boulevard, which is known (next to Virgin Megastore) for their huge DVD selection. I was surprised and stunned, of course, to find myself perusing the DVD aisles with none other than Friends actor David Schwimmer.
Like a kid getting ready to steal a pack of gum in a supermarket, Mr. Schwimmer was hovering around the boundary between real everyday (non-X rated) DVDs and the (gasp!) section that included the Adult DVDs. He waited until he thought no one was looking, then snuck into the section.
When I next saw Mr. Schwimmer, up at the counter, I was already purchasing my DVDs. He was standing in line behind me, holding a stack of Adult DVD’s covered on the top by Frantic, that movie with Harrison Ford (which was appropriate since he was rushing to get out of the store). He was hiding his purchases, and as I started to leave and he took my place at the counter he did his best to speed the sale along.
What can I say. David Schwimmer likes porn.
