My New Foster Family

The latest gig has now been going on for a few weeks.

I mentioned before that I had started work as a Supervising Producer on an upcoming FOX show, but about who or what — that was a secret. But since things have already been written about the show, I figured I could let a little more leak into the public. Or, you know, the WFME-zone.

The show I’m working on has yet to have a specific title, but is about uber-music producer David Foster and his two step-sons (Brody & Brandon Jenner) and their mother Linda Thompson. The family has their own pretty amazing history, if not made interesting by their accomplishments and famous significant others.

David, of course, was in the band Chicago for some time, responsible for some of their greatest hits (“You’re the Inspiration”, “Hard Habit to Break”, “The Glory of Love”) but is known even more for producing some of the greatest hits for people like Josh Groban, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, The Corrs, etc etc etc. You can see his whole dealio over at his website.

The boys, of course, are the offspring of their mother Linda Thompson and their father, Bruce Jenner. And Linda Thompson herself, was best known for her years on Hee Haw and her five-year relationship with the fat-version of Elvis.

It’s definitely an intriguing and interesting project with really unique characters, but at it’s heart it will hit the American Family because, really, how many kids want to live off their parents forever, and how many parents wish their kids would go out and make money on their own?

Common problems, common situations. Should be interesting.

In other news, the first season of The Greatest American Hero hits stores this Tuesday. And trust me when I tell you how sad it is that I am so excited about it. But in addition to the first season the discs will also include the unaired pilot for the spin-off “The Greatest American Heroine” which sounds so bad, it’s gonna be priceless.

Believe it or not, I’m walking on air.
