Words For Your Enjoyment: The WFYE Workout Video

Sometimes it’s amazing how in sync my readers are with me.

That’s why I was flabbergasted when I got an e-mail from WFME regular Andrea, who asked, “What would a workout DVD sponsored by WFME be like?”

In fact, the question isn’t what would a workout DVD sponsored by WFME be like, but rather, what is the W.F.Y.E. (Workout For Your Enjoyment) DVD like?

Good question. Here’s the text from the back cover of the Workout For Your Enjoyment DVD, hitting streets on August 23rd, 2005:

Sick and tired of those workouts that tell you what you’re doing is wrong? Fed up with workout videos that require you to buy silly plastic products that are never worth their weight in gold? Fatigued by workout plans that require eating right and regular cardiovascular exercise?

Then the “Workout For Your Enjoyment” is right up your alley.

Hosted by none other than workout guru and Magic Johnson workout buddy Paul Davidson, the Workout For Your Enjoyment requires absolutely nothing while you’re on your way to losing those unwanted pounds. That’s right, no workout equipment, no repetitive motions and absolutely, positively, no stretching! The “Workout For Your Enjoyment” is just that…for your enjoyment!!

Like to eat doughnuts and watch TV? That’s your workout.

Like to pluck your eyebrows, squish your toes in mud and berate your husband for not taking out the garbage? That’s your workout.

Like to sing songs from not-so-famous 1970 sitcoms while trying to scratch your back with one of those convenient little backscratching hand thingies? That’s your workout.

In a world where doing what we want, when we want, hardly ever results in losing flabby waistlines and hanging flesh pockets — the 90 minute “Workout For Your Enjoyment” provides wannabe skinny people with an opportunity to do whatever makes them happy, and lose weight in the process.

Just how such weight is lost while doing what you enjoy is part of the secret that Paul Davidson uncovered while eating a pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream while sitting on the couch watching the entire first season of The Brady Bunch. After consuming over 1000 calories of Chubby Hubby and gurgling over the hilarious goodness of the “Ow, my nose” episode in which Marcia’s face swells up — Paul weighed himself. And lost 3 pounds in the process!

After many tests and poking and prodding, Davidson uncovered something wonderful — that when the brain is happy (i.e. enjoying something), certain adrenaline receptors fire more frequently, causing the body’s metabolism to speed up, thus causing the loss of weight. Davidson, without any previous scientific experience or knowledge, turned such findings into the video you now hold in your hands.

So if you aren’t enjoying yourself and you’re not losing weight, why not try the one DVD that will have you singing karaoke, eating corn dogs AND losing weight all at the same time.

I mean, really — what do you have to lose, except weight itself!?

FYI. The font on the back of the box is really damn small.
