This Post Will Not Be Called ‘Tidbits of Life’

October 19th, 2005

Although isn’t Tidbits of Life a great title for a post?

Sort of reminds me of a song from the soon-to-be-released-musical-as-a-movie Rent. I can just hear the chorus of the song now in my head:

Tidbits of life,
trouble and strife,
the kind we don’t like,
those tidbits of life.

The good and the bad,
that you and me had,
our tidbits, those big fits,
those tidbits of life.

It would be an exhilarating song.

DM and Me

May 10th, 2005

Sure, you may know Danny Masterson from the popular FOX show That 70’s Show and recognize him for his trademark “fro” of curls.

Recently I had lunch with one of my buddies who was good friends with DM and we all ended up hooking up one night at a bar where we got to talking. DM had sort of been frustrated lately because most of the rest of his co-stars had been finding success in other media ventures. You know, Ashton Kutcher had found success with Punk’d and a variety of movies, Topher Grace in In Good Company and even Wilmer V. in a variety of TV shows and local appearance stuff. But DM — well, the guy was getting screwed.

Saturday’s Stream of Consciousness

April 30th, 2005

Aaah, the kitchen sink.

You know, there used to be a pizza they used to call the “kitchen sink” and they’d throw absolutely everything on that pizza from beef to olives to pocket lint and when all was said and done, well, you’d feel pretty damn sick.

Almost as sick as I thought I felt last night when I picked up an Italian Chicken Chopped Salad from a place here in Los Angeles called Il Trezzamino. Normally, great food — this salad had something deathly wrong with it. For when I would take a bite I would not only taste the normal flavor but something so noxious I had to spit it out onto the plate. I immediately called the restaurant who had this wonderfully consoling conversation with me:

Scripted Words

January 2nd, 2005

It’s somewhat old news by now, but the press just keeps on coming for the Pauly D. Case in point is this month’s issue of Script Magazine (Jan/Feb Issue) which is just hitting stands this week and features a one-page interview with yours truly about my script sale and my “process.”

Oh, my process. It is more personal information than you have probably ever gotten on WFME, and what exactly that means I have no idea. Nonetheless, any press is good press so I thought I’d mention it just in case any of you/all of you/one of you feel the need to check it out.

Yeah, I know. So humble.

Words In Print, Redux

November 16th, 2004

Some more loving is thrown the way of Pauly D in this month’s Creative Screenwriting magazine.

Alas, this time it’s not a boring old reprint of news gone by but a nice one-pager about yours truly and the rocky road one travels on the way to the top of the mountain they call a “script sale.” So, if you live in one of the cities the mag is available in (read: anywhere), pick up a copy and turn to page 13 to learn more than you ever cared to learn about the PD.

For those on a budget, scrap picking up the mag in person and just stare at the pretty picture of this month’s cover, which also doubles as a really tough Magic Eye puzzle. Stare long enough and you’ll see three dolphins playing poker.
