this is primarily why i will no longer accept jobs that would make me a hidden-camera reality TV show production staff member. in addition, i was tired of the following conversation:
Producer-Guy-Thing: why can’t i hear the guy on camera?
me: because he’s not miked.
P.G.T.: why not?!?! damn it?!?!
me: uhm, because he’s a sorry-ass victim of a hidden camera show and DOESN’T KNOW HE’S ON TV.
P.G.T.: well, i need to hear him!!
me: don’t you think he’d know he’s on a tv show if i suddenly appeared and jammed a mic on him?
P.G.T.: (sputters, pretends walkie is going off, flees)

by the way, i’d punch me in the face too. another reason why i won’t do those shows.
