It Seems Cylons Aren’t Perfect (And Neither Is Lucy Lawless’ Fingernail)

November 20th, 2006

You may think I’m insane but I’m going to go here anyway.

If you’re a fan of the amazing Battlestar Galactica on SciFi Channel, then you know all about the beautiful human-looking cylons on the show. They’re perfect in every single way — and it’s no wonder because that’s how the Cylons made them out to be. Flawless, perfect and possessing no mutant genes whatsoever. And when you watch the show, specifically such actors as Trish Helfer and Lucy Lawless — you’re convinced that the Cylons knew what they were doing. And I was right there with all you fans.

That is, until I discovered that Lucy Lawless’ character, D’Anna Biers, has got a nasty fingernail mutation.

Prison Break: The Drinking Game

November 20th, 2006

Aw, I feel bad for FOX’s Prison Break.

What was a pretty kick-ass show in its first season has quickly become the equivalent of a “shaggy dog story” (a story that goes on and on with no real end in sight, and then when the end comes it’s laughable) with its twisting plot lines and overly dramatic plot points. And apparently, besides people watching it for pretty-boy Wentworth Miller, there really isn’t much more of a reason to watch it…until now.

I give you Prison Break: The Drinking Game.

Today’s Prognosis on Finger Scratching Hand Shakers

November 19th, 2006

Sometimes things reach critical mass.

And when something reaches critical mass, there’s really not much else anyone can do about it before the walls start caving in and society crumbles because of it. Such is the case with things like war, terrorism, racial insensitivity, violence, horrific natural disasters and homelessness. These things are all reaching critical mass as I type this, and becoming unwieldy monsters that surprisingly, can’t even hold a flame to one last unbearable thing.

That thing? Finger scratching hand shakers.

WFME Has Been Banned

November 18th, 2006

It has been brought to my attention that WFME has been banned from some of your work computers.

This of course, seemed ridiculous to me. I mean, this site has little (if zero) curse words. This site has no naked pictures (yes, you’re lucky there), no political leanings or rants and no off-color or racial jokes to annoy the general public. So it got me to thinking — for what reason would WFME be banned by the corporate I.T. bigwigs?

The following ten reasons were the only ones that I could come up with.

Words For Your Enjoyment: Chime Living

November 17th, 2006

Glorious, glorious Friday.

More glorious than a sundae with a pool of caramel at its base. More exhilirating than inhaling two packets of Splenda right up ones’ nose. More giddy than a clown, with a red nose, with a shaved poodle, shoving itself into a phonebooth too small for even one oversized grandmother with shopping bags. More powerful than, well, absolutely any other day of the week according to recent studies performed by University psychology students in a double-blind survey.

It’s more better, people. It’s more better.

Today’s “Words For Your Enjoyment” suggestion hails from WFME longtime reader Kathleen who writes: “Can you write about how life would be better if we incorporated the “turn the page” chime from books of our childhood into our adult lives?”
