Since I’ve Used Up Every Clever Title Combination For ‘The Lost Blogs’ I’ll Refrain This Time Around

May 5th, 2006

Monday marks the Official Release of The Lost Blogs from Warner Books.

And while the book has already been shipped to lucky Amazon.com buyers and people have already started leaving glowing reviews and although brick & mortar stores like Barnes & Noble already are putting the books out on their “New in Paperbacks” tables — next week means that if the spirits smile down upon me, we should start seeing some mainstream press jump on the Pauly D bandwagon.

But that’s not to say that there hasn’t already been some great press for the book.

This week’s Sports Illustrated gave the book some great ink. Last Sunday’s Chicago Sun Times did a nice piece on the book. There’s been love from USA Today Online and YRB Magazine.

And who can forget all the glorious fellow bloggers who have posted about the book.

Some WFME readers have asked, “Do you think the online mentions of the book will help its sales?” Ironically, when my first book Consumer Joe came out, I didn’t have a blog and had zero web-friends whatsoever. So the release of The Lost Blogs is going to be an interesting test case on whether or not the Blogosphere really can help get the word out.

That being said, those who have taken the time to post about the book — thank you. To those who haven’t, any help you can give in getting the word out would be greatly appreciated. And to those who have a wet piece of meat for one hand and a tuba for the other…I get it. You can’t type. No worries.

Next week marks not only the beginning of the official release, but I’ll also be doing a handful of radio interviews as well. As the appearances are confirmed I’ll be updating this site and the Official Lost Blogs site, as well. But tomorrow (Saturday), if you live in Detroit, you may want to tune into The G-3 Show at 8:10 AM PST on WXYT 1270 AM. I’ll be discussing the book and my love of ferrets. Next week there’s a slew of morning radio show appearances, including some DJ named Mancow (date & time, TBD).

Even more exciting is the fact that I’ll be going to New York during the week of May 15th to do some on-air TV interviews and I’ll be sure to give you the facts when they’re locked…and loaded.

Thanks again to everyone to has mentioned, purchased and supported the book! I love you more than you know, but less than my family thinks I love you, and just understand that the reason for that is if I were to give my family the impression that I love you guys more than I love them than they’ll never forgive me and stuff, so…

You get it.

At first I was slightly offended that we were mere web-friends but now that I understand you love us as much or more than your own family and/or friends, I’m happy again.

Seriously though Pauly! I’m really excited for you! Have fun with all the publicity and I have a good feeling this is going to be a huge seller! I have shown it to several of my friends but have told them if they want to read anymore, they’ve gotsta get their own!

    Hope it works!!!

If we are web-friends, does that mean we’re stuck in it together and that the end will come in the form of a giant spider?

I just wish you were actually going to be here instead of just a call-in interview.

The Swede - I hate spiders. So, maybe we’re stuck together and that the end will come in the form of a giant Ding Dong?

Kevin - Me too. Maybe if we all wish for it, it will happen.

Suggested clever title for today’s entry:
JUBLILEE, Lost Blogs, JUBILEE blog. Silly!

I love the book and have read through it twice now.

I’m just curious as to how many people deciphered the Samuel Morse entry??

  12. Gravatar

Dave - Glad you enjoy. Have you deciphered it?

  13. Gravatar

I want “More of the lost blogs” by Pauly D.

The Samuel Morse entry? I’m still trying to decipher Alan Turing!
