Words For Your Enjoyment: The GBBMC
March 17th, 2006

With The Lost Blogs release coming in just over a month, and the related secret site mere weeks away from going live — I wanted to take this opportunity to give one more plug to the genius behind the G.B.B.M.C. (or Grassroots Blogger Book Marketing Campaign).
The brainchild of Kevin Apgar, the G.B.B.M.C. will be taking place during the week of April 10-14 and challenges bloggers to write their blogs in the voice of a historical figure (one not included already in my upcoming book). The Top 3 sites (as voted by an expert in the field of writing blogs in the voices of historical figures, i.e. ME) will receive signed, first-edition copies of The Lost Blogs. Currently, there’s already 20+ sites signed up for the festivities, and there’s still time to get involved yourself.
So if you’re interested, check out the contest information here and scroll down to see the current list of participants. And get the word out to your fellow history-loving blog-writing friends.

not today, thanks

Pauly D, prepare to be amazed…er, maybe not. Actually, keep your expectations low (re: me) — that way, you can be pleasantly surprised!

Yeah, Kevin! Great idea. But what exactly is a brainchild anyway? Sounds creepy…

unfortunately, i’m illiterate, so i’m not able to participate, but i am going to suggest it to someone who i know enjoys writing. she also lives fairly close so if she wins the book, i can go over and admire her signed first edition copy.

BSTS - Great idea!

I already consider myself to be a historical figure, so I plan to be writing as ME.
Might as well send me that autographed copy right now…

20+ participants? Damn. I remember when there were only five and I thought, “Woohoo! I am SOOOO in the running for an autographed book!” Now that dream is beginning to fade away before my very eyes.
I’m so discouraged.
(At least it’s more people promoting your book, and that’s what counts.)
