Return of the Blog Treasure Hunt (Again)

October 5th, 2005

You have asked incessantly for the return of the blog treasure hunt. Well, who am I to deny you of such a frustrating experience?

That’s right.

So, without further adieu — I’ll give you the quick 411. Click into this post and ye shall find a variety of clues in rhyming poetic form. (Is there any other way to run a blog treasure hunt?) The clues will take you in and around the world of blogs, and eventually ask you for a final answer — that which you will only be able to answer if you’ve followed the clues to a T. The first two people to submit the answer via the WFME submission form will win a signed copy of my first book Consumer Joe. For those who already have one — tough.

Good luck, good tidings and good for you.

A brand new day at WFME,
down one, across five — and ye shall see,
a variety of founders, and regulars too,
find one in the “nick of time” and you’ll know what to do.

Once off on your ride,
arriving at your first place,
searching for some mac and cheese,
will get you on in this race.

Like “a jay” in the sky,
flying up up away,
click on the first of his comments,
and see what he’s got to say.

Being twenty-three oh fo-shizzle,
will get you back with the sizzle,
in her old Western stack,
a man who’d shoot you square in the back.

If you’re seeing the queen,
right there on your screen,
don’t think I’m being mean,
if I want you to Sue me and scream.

With a hop, skip and jump,
scan the site just like Neo,
and continue your quest,
at the sign of the Leo.

Drip, drip, drip, drip.
Now’s the time you just don’t slip.
Pledge away, it’s time to kneel,
this is where you’ll need to “find a steal.”

The modern question you now must ask,
can you scan, and rightly fast?
Down to the bottom, number 12,
anonymously is where you should delve.

Are you still alive?
Would you like to search archive?
Do you like the number five?
August really seems to jive.

Now find the words,
where there are none,
and click the face,
you’ve almost won…

Just find the phrase,
in and about,
five simple words,
the end, so stout.

Your answer, please?

Comments are welcome, but don’t submit or give away your final answers in the comment section. This wonderfully annoying little contest will continue until at least two people have won or until 12:00 AM, Pacific Standard Time on this very same day.

Good luck.

Update: We have our winners. They are (in order of solving the riddles): Shane, Pierce and C Ro. Congratulations to all three of you!

We have our two winners, but I am going to add one more giveaway to the mix since I know people are in the midst of trying.

Thanks for providing me with some awesome hangover-at-work work, but now that it’s done, I’m afraid I have to lie under my desk.

I found this way too late. I do hope that you post answers to which blogs there are - I suck at riddles.
