9 Words

Words For My Enjoyment is proud to be a brand-new member of the 9rules Network.
Before I tell you what 9 rules is, I’m going to tell you what it isn’t. It’s not a network that actually requires you to follow nine rules (they make you follow 45). It’s not a network that contains only German blogs who consistenly answer all of your questions with the word “Nein.” It’s not a misspelled network name for a network that gives out nine rulers a day, and it’s definitely not sponsored by the number “9″. (Numbers can’t sponsor networks, by the way. It’s a rule.)
So, what is the 9rules Network?
It’s a network whose goal can be simplified with this simple tagline that has not been authorized nor is being used by the network, but which I think can sum up their theme pretty damn well.
New voices…new audience.
There are so many great blogs out there with great content, but after awhile you find yourself at a loss for finding them. It’s tough — there are just too many of them out there and so little time. 9rules’ goal is to get those new voices, new audiences — and give people looking for fresh, new, exciting content just what they hunger for.
(I’m hungry now. Thanks.)
Personally, I’ve been a fan of the network, the blogs, and the concept since I first laid eyes on it, and as they grow and add many new sites (over the coming weeks) I think the Network will find itself growing in leaps and bounds due to the quality of the sites included therein.
No, I don’t get paid. No, I don’t have to put ads on my site. Yes, I had to give them a blood sample. No, I haven’t gotten the tests back yet. Yes, they let me in without the results of the blood test. Yes, that makes them pretty damn cool. No, I refused to give them a urine sample. No, they didn’t force me to give them one. Yes, that makes them pretty damn cool.
Give ‘em a look or click on their logo which has now been somewhat permanently affixed to the bottom of the WFME sidebar.

Once again, congratulations Pauly!

They force you to like Paris Hilton though. I mean frankly, that’s hot. Hey Pauly, you’re hot.

So, where should we read you — here or there? It’s all so confusing… this new fangled internet thing…

Thanks, guys.
Really, thanks.
No, I appreciate it. Seriously. Yeah, thanks.

My only hope is that post-Network Pauly D continues to be as cool as pre-Network Pauly D. Congrats.

I’m totally for pithy, succinct slogans. Oh yeah, and new voices. Keep on pioneerin’, Pauly. And don’t forget to hook a sister or two up, dawg.
(White Jewish chicks calling blogdudes “dawg”? That’s hot.)

Love the writing style and congratulations! Will be reading your stuff

Well, I guess I’ll just have to be the fourteenth to say it…
Way to go, Paul!

Shouldn’t you change the name of your blog to “AAA Words for My Enjoyment” so you can get to the top of the list over at 9 Words — and you’ll always be read first. Right now, your title begins with “Words…” That’s like having the name Zellinski during 2nd Grade attendance.
Comment by Neil — July 12, 2005 @ 10:09 pm
It wouldn’t matter since the list is random every refresh. Gotta be fair to everyone

Just trying to help. Although a few bucks to this Scrivs guy wouldn’t hurt (sort of like how you handle the usher in the section behind home plate at Dodger Stadium).

Congrats and I love that logo!

always trying to get more people reading…smart idea Pauly D. I just try to get the people that already read to comment on my ramblings called a blog.

Is one of the rules that you can’t have red on the sides of the page?
Just curious… and feeling a bit blue.
Comment by Mark K — July 13, 2005 @ 7:22 pm
Interesting! I just found out the average English sentence is 9 words… and that is how I found this blog.
