L.A. Words

Sometimes when you wake up in the morning, you don’t expect you’ll find yourself digging through the garbage later that night.

Of course, when I returned to the homestead tonight I found myself faced with numerous messages from people giving me shit for being quoted in a front-page article in today’s Calendar section of the Los Angeles Times.

The article (which you may or may not be able to pull up due to pay subscription issues over at LATimes.com), was written in response to an article I wrote on LAist about a gaudy building here in Los Angeles that is such an eyesore that it should be torn down.

The article, called “Seriously, What about a Tarp?” gets its title from some quotes from yours truly, not to mention giving me a nice few quotes that allow me to illustrate just how funny I can be when I’m talking about buildings. Really, I have a whole stand-up routine centered around the Leaning Tower of Pisa and The Eiffel Tower.

Try me. I dare you.

Way to go being quoted! 🙂 Even driving past that building at night makes one’s eyes hurt.

niiice quotes! i’m too far away to check out that building but i’d concur — it looks very similar to “the ugliest bedroom in America” *contest* on Oprah Winfrey awhile back. The decor was very similar — 80’s shiny black built ins, pink and turqoise and black color scheme — like Miami Vice barfed in there.

anyway — i’d be curious as to what kind of commentary you’re receiving

Very nice Pauly! And I agree, that building has got to go. Everytime I drive past it, I cringe.
