Tonight’s Plagiarized Idea About Giving Out Free Music
December 6th, 2004

WFME friend Srah has got a wonderful thing going on at her blog all month long called Holiday Download Extravaganza in which you, the anonymous blog reader gets a free song to download each day. No strings. No complicated documents to sign. No kidneys getting ripped out of your stomach while you lay unconscious in a Vegas bathtub.
It’s true. And because I think it’s such a great idea, I’ve stolen it.
But don’t get me wrong. I am not calling my feature Holiday Download Extravaganza nor am I giving out a free MP3 song each day this month. I am calling it December 6th Evening Freebie of an MP3 Download Because There’s Nothing Good On TV Tonight Extravaganza.
No cool graphic like Srah, either.
Tonight’s featured download, for December 6th Evening Freebie of an MP3 Download Because There’s Nothing Good On TV Tonight Extravaganza is from one of my favorite groups (like this is a surprise) — They Might Be Giants. The song, off their album Mink Car is called Man, It’s So Loud In Here. It’s a classic TMBG song about how you can’t hold a conversation with someone in a loud dance club and it’s got a Techno/New Order feel to it that will either get your toes tapping or encourage you to kill all members of your family with an ice pick. Hopefully the first choice of the two.
I’d buy that for a dollar! (Right, I know. It’s free. Figure of speech.)

Nothing good on tv tonight? Excuse me. Las Vegas is on tonight. Love love love TMBG though. Good call on the tune.

Cough.
Las Vegas? Good TV?
I don’t know what to think of you now, Hilary. Please, tell me it’s all about Josh Duhamel for you and nothing else.

I cannot guarantee about the kidneys.

I am getting fonder and fonder of this song every time I listen to it. I don’t have Mink Car yet… maybe I should invest in it!
