Toe Length (Or You Got Freaky Long Toes, Girlfriend!)

What does it mean when someone’s second toe is longer than their big toe?
I’ve been out and about this past weekend doing extensive research on this subject and can confidently say that there are a huge percentage of people out there whose second toes (and sometimes their second and third toes) are a tad longer than their big toes. When they flatten out their feet and toes, it’s just weird looking. I mean, aren’t toes supposed to get exponentially smaller as you go down to the baby/pinky toe?
I think so.
Now I’m not saying I have beautiful, perfect toes or anything like that… And some people might immediately come out and tell me that I don’t simply based on the fact that at one point I mentioned picking up jelly beans inbetween my toes (no links here, I prefer to keep it hidden)… But my toes seem to be ok. No gnarly extra long toes or anything.
So then I started to think about this even more (it was a slow weekend) and wonder if just like how people mention if your feet are big you must be well-endowed, or if your ear lobes are not attached you’re some brainiac or how if you stutter while you speak you’re, well, supposed to someday be elected into a very high political office…
Is there something about having an extra long second toe (next to your big toe) that coincidentally means something else about your persona?
Could having an extra long second toe mean you are faster on your feet? A better long-distance runner? A more fluid swimmer? People have said that the reason for the pinky toe was to help people swim faster. Well, could the extra long second toe have something to do with that? Or maybe, just maybe, does an extra long second toe allow you to jump higher? Does it mean that, possibly, you will someday be a shoe model for weird extra long shoes?
What does it mean? I’m not sure. But I do know that if people are having their pinky toe chopped off to get their feet into small, exquisite high heels… then how many people are having their extra long freaky second toes shortened to match the rest of their pedal-digits? It could be happening all around us and no one would ever know because feet and toes are almost always hidden in darkness and cotton and nylon.
There’s something sinister going on out there and I felt you all should be aware of it.

In other news, I am not obsessed with feet.
I know that in palmistry, the length of each finger (relative to the others) means something.
I wonder if there’s such a thing as “footistry”

I’m not happy to admit this, but I have the long toe syndrome. They are freakish. The second toe on each of my feet looks like it belongs on E.T.’s foot. As to whether it makes me a faster runner/swimmer, I couldn’t say.

I think I have perfect toes. Each one a tiny bit shorter than the one next to it, all the way down to a baby toe. However, a podiatrist friend of mine informed me that my feet are actually deformed and that healthy feet have a second toe that is longer than the big toe. He says this ensures that your weight is evenly distributed across the ball of your foot and not just all right on that boney knob thing under your big toe (which is supposedly why my boney knob thing hurts after playing sports).

all my toes are normal and length and everything, but have you seen the movie shallow hal? theres a scene in that movie where one of the guys breaks up with the perfect girl just because one of her second toes is freakishly long and he gets grossed out by that..LOL, just made me think of that movie.

Yeah! For once, I’m not THE freak! My toe is shorter. I think it makes my feet look ugly though. I’ve always hated my feet because they look different then most. BTW: I heard its genetic - the toe thing. And the dominant gene is the long toe one.
P.S. What the heck is posting by scripts? Has Hollywood gone that crazy that scripts are out there pimping themselves willy-nilly?

I heard that there is a new trend in California and the East Coast to have plastic surgery to shorten long second toes! Supposedly, the more esthetic foot print for a woman is a shorter second toe and each following toe to be smaller and shorter. That way they have better “toe clevage” and can fit into as many Jimmy Choo’s and Manola Blanick’s as their credit cards will allow.
Here is what I was told as a child about the longer 2nd toe: If you are a woman it means that you will henpeck your husband. If you are a man it means you will be stubborn and too bossy. I have “Turtle - toes” … meaning my big toe is so much bigger than the others that it looks like a little turtle head! Has anyone ever heard what that might mean?
Oh, and by the way? My earlobes are detatched … big time.

Anthropological study of skeletal remains in Great Britain shows that the Celts had a second toe that was same size or smaller than the big toe but the pre-Celt population had the longer second toe. Just thought you should know….

I was always told it meant you were descended from royalty. I was also told that it makes for better balance (the longer 2nd toe). From what I’ve learned recently, it’s also called “Roman Toes” and is often portrayed on classical statues.

Does anyone know what it means? I heard that the second toe being longer is a sign of intelligence. What does it mean to have three toes the same length. I have long 2nd and 3rd toes and i feel like a freak. I’m to the point where i never wear sandals or anything that shows my toes!! I hate them. It stops me from wearing really cute outfits and I wear jeans all the time and you can tell when ppl stare at your feet and it makes you feel really uncomfortable…I’m depressed!! any advice?

Woooooow. Truer words have YET to be spoken. I work in downtown Chicago. What kills me, KILLS ME, is to see beautiful women walking down the street in their cute little outfits and FUNKTIFIED (look up Da Brat and Jermaine Dupri)feet. It’s not just the triple-jointed, monkey toes, it’s the cracked, dry, “enough-crust-to-bake-a-pie” heels. I mean, GAH! Can’t they feel that? Don’t they want to DO something about that? Dang!
While we’re on that, it seems to me that it’s the same gangly-toed women that wear open-toed shoes and their toes are WAY over the front of the shoe. Like scrapping sidewalk. So I’m like, ok. My ridiculously long second toes have always been called “Farmer Toes” but I don’t know why. I live in Ohio, but I’m a Graphic Designer (not a farmer). My #2 toe on the left foot hurts A LOT and I finally went to a podiatrist who said, “Wow - that IS a long toe!”. His only suggestion was to have the toes surgically shortened…no thanks.

I adore female feet with 2nd longer toes. I think that is a lot more beautiful. Always I see a beautiful girl I first take a look at her feet to see if she has 2nd longer toe. I would like to say to all women whose 2nd and 3rd toes are longer, don’t worry girls, you must be happy because there are many guys like me that enjoy these long toes. I have that long second toe on both feet but the the right one is the longest and ugliest.
My mom had it too and so did my grandfather ,my 2nd daughter and my son and nephew. It definetly is genetic.
Why some of us get it is weird.
I not only have the long toe but a long foot.
I got the flat, long foot the with long 2nd toe.
It is so embarrassing that I have never worn sandles. I want to know how to shorten my 2nd toes and which dr. will do it.
It will be my first plastic surgury when I can afford it.

i have the 2nd toe thing too “Morton’s Toe” is what i know it as. I saw it on Shallow Hal, and yes it was a comedy BUT i also have seen C.S.I.(which is a drama) using it, for CSI fans who have the toe its Season 1 #18 “$35K O.B.O.” with Nick and Greg in the lab. i refuse to feel like a freak because of the toe, its genetic, i got it from my grandmother, and i havent checked all my family members toes but i can bet its common for them. For everyone who thinks we are “freaks” well i think your “normal” feet are ugly and freakish. I have never had foot pain, and i play sports and work out regularly. Shoes are uncomfortable however, so i wear Adidas Sandals pretty much year round, and i do live where it snows and yes i do wear them in the snow, but not bare, i do wear socks. I refuse to buy shoes a half size larger, it doesnt work anyways, the shoes feel floppy and clownish. I am proud of my toes. i like the men who think the toe thing is sexy!

About 3 years ago, CNN reported that a recent study from The New England Journal of Medicine, suggested that men who have 2nd & 3rd toes longer that their big toe, have an incredible sex drive. I searched The Journal for related articles, and could not find any information. However, I have both 2nd & 3rd toes longer than my big toes, and I must admit the statement is true. I have also asked other guys, who have the same type of feet, and they agree with me. Thought you might find this interesting!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE a woman with a second longer toe!! I have a foot fetish and have been a footman ever since I was a child. I’ve always looked at woman for beauty from teh ground up and not topdown. There is something unatractive about the straight across toe look. THe curvature in a woman’s toe is go geometrical. I also have the 2nd toe thing on both feet. my Toes curve up then back down to my little toe. I actually just found out tonight that everyone’s toes weren’t like this when my family started bugging me about it. I have to admit other then the fact my big toe is smaller I think I have pretty cute feet….. But you may be onto something Enigma with the high sex drive thing. I have extremely long toes and like to use them for picking things up, snapping them, playing with the cats, waving, etc. I can spread them out and wiggle each one. They always called me “finger toes” in school, because I’d slip my shoes off and hold a pencil or some other thing with them when I was reading.

Foot shape has evolved. Seriously. We studied this in art history class. If you look at renaissance paintings, you’ll notice that the second toe of both men and women in both 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional art is always longer. Look at any statue of David for example. The shorter second toe is evolving and getting shorter as time goes along. Everyone used to have a longer second toe.

I am glad to learn that I am not the only one on this planet who has this specific predilection.
To me a woman gains attractiveness if she has beautiful well groomed feet with a longer second toe, even if she is not a perfect beauty.
Vice versa an ultra beautiful woman looses a bit of her attractiveness if her feet do not meet my esthetical criteria i.e. supermodel Cindy Crawford.
My theory is that feet play a similar role in our pairing behaviour than face, breasts and butt, that is to raise the attention of the male.
This would explain why so many women pay such enormous sums for shoes each year.

In regards to Frank’s theories on second toes and why women spend so much time and so much money picking out footwear, I’ve never heard a women say “I just have to have these sandals! They really accentuate the length of my second toe!” Both my mom and sister have the longer second toe, and they pretty much pick their shoes based on how well it goes with their outfits, comfort and what’s fashionable at the time, not whether it will turn on some guy with a second longer toe fetish. *Sigh* And by your standards, that would make me the ugly duckling of my family. I may as well throw in the towel now and live in spinsterhood with my shorter sized second toe! lol

I’ve been reading this blog with pleasant amazement, as my favorite feature on a woman is being discussed with some degree of interest and fascination. For those of you who don’t get it, do not judge those of us who do. ok..i found this blog to be very…lets say weird..anyway, i found it because i was searching for an answer to my “freaky toe”..although my right foot has somewhat ‘perfect’ toes, the 4th toe on my left foot is tiny…and it is pushed back into my foot a little more..i know this sounds weird but its something which has been apparent for about 7-8 years now and ive recently been the butt of some jokes…i was just wondering if anyone else has this problem and it they know why it happens?

Personally, I like the women who have extremely longer toes than there big toes. Psychologically, there are reasons that some of us have this fetish. You can read more about it in psychology references on the Internet. I was at the beach once, standing around and i remmember a chinese man walk up to me, point to my toes and start rambling off in chinese, i am pretty sure i made his day. My toes are so long i can literally bury them into the sand. To wear an open toe sandal would be a joke. I once read that a longer second toe was a sign of royalty. Sandals were worn by Romans so a person’s status was easily detected. If your second toe was longer than your big toe, you were identified as someone of Royalty. If your second toe was shorter than your big toe, you were considered a peasant.

Actually, if you are that height and weight you have a BMI of 16 which is extremely underweight and not healthy. A person who is 5′2 and 130 lbs has a BMI of 23.8 which falls exactly within the normal healthy weight range. So who is more “perfect”?
Also, as some have mentioned earlier:
Morton’s Toe is a common forefoot disorder where the second toe is longer than the Big Toe (the Hallux). Morton’s toe leads to excessive pressure on the second metatarsal head (behind the second toe at the ball- of-the-foot) resulting in pain similar to the discomfort associated with metatarsalgia. The constant pressure placed on the longer second toe while walking or standing can lead to callus formation under the second metatarsal head due to this excessive pressure.
I did see however, that you can have longer 2nd and 3rd toes and not have Morton’s Toe, so it seems to be a problem which happens only in this group, but not to everyone.
Myself, I have “normal” toes, although my 4th one does seem to bend funny.

Thanks for giving me such a great laugh and wonderful insight into the oft-loathed larger second toe. Not only do I have second longer toes on both feet, I have no arches, AND I recently broke the second longer toe on the left foot. I tripped over it (LOL). I had one boyfriend who told me I had “elegant feet.” At first, I didn’t believe him, but I decided to “embrace my feet and my toes” — after all, they are what they are. Now, I show them off in strappy, attractive sandals and wear bright nail polish (however, I keep the nail length short). I have learned to love my toes and the platypuslike footprint my archless foot makes at the beach. I also have long, artistic-looking hands and fingers, which I love and always receive compliments on…so why not the feet? Ladies, love your second toes…even though they may be prone to getting battered and bruised…even though you may have to wear a slightly larger shoe to accommodate this special appendage…they are uniquely yours. P.S. I am actually Greek if that helps validate the “Grecian toe” thing.

In ancient times having a longer second toe meant you inherited from being royalty. It meant it was a genetic trait that was passed down from some royal house.
In other cultures it is supposed to mean that you are smarter than everyone else.
In my world it just means you have a long toe.
My second toe is longer than my big toe and my feet are attractive and I used to be a top model so obviously nobody found it that freaky.

This is very funny to me. I have always thought that I had beautiful and sexy feet. My second toes are longer and I thought it was normal. I have always been told by both women and men my whole life that I have beautiful feet and hands. Today is the first day that I heard that a few people had a problem with a longer second toe. For the few that don’t like it, you are missing out. My feet are sexy, beautiful and normal. I am even thinking about becoming a foot model and hand model.

Happened to be searching for anything on this topic, so I thought I’d post some comments myself. For some time, I have taken more & more notice of people’s feet/toes, since open-toed shoes & sandals are currently “all the rage” out there.
And so, I have been taking a little bit of a “non-scientific” informal study for a few years.
I have noticed that there seems to be some genetic factors that make certain people more likely to have the long 2nd toe (or “long middle toe”, as I call it). Such factors are: people who are tall & slender - minorities (esp. Asian), to name a few.
But one factor (that is by far more true in women than in men) which I’ve really noticed is that the long 2nd toe is very prevalent in people of higher financial standing / social classes. I really DO believe that there is some truth to the myth that people with the long 2nd toe are descended from royalty or aristocracy.
In the city where I live, I work in a very upscale part of town. The vast majority of the women I see who live & work there do have the long 2nd toe. These women typically tend to be very affluent. I have an ex-girlfriend from this part of town & know other women there who are friends. Almost all of them have the long 2nd toe.
Conversely, when I am out & about in the suburban “middle class” areas, I notice that most of the women there have what is considered to be “normal” feet - where the big toe is longest, and the toes gradually become shorter in sequence.
Now this is not a 100% true condition - some affluent people have the “normal” foot, and some in the middle & lower classes have the long 2nd toe. But for the most part, I do notice that there is a direct correlation between toe length and social standing.
One of the previous posts mentioned that the Romans wore sandals to tell the aristocracy apart from the peasants - I think that in some small way that it still applies today.
As for me - I grew up in a middle-class family & I do not have the long 2nd toe.

The length of toes has nothing to do with intelligence,social standing,dominace,nor financial standing.Instead,it has to do with personality.A person with “gripping” secondary toes are determined,aggressive,forward people(AKA hard chargers).This alone often puts them in a position of dominance and power,but it does not mean that they are any better than any one else.It also doesn’t mean anything in regard to aristocracy as in the past there have been numerous retarded determing factors that indicate royalty,yet didn’t.
The reason that evolution is making the longer secondary toes obsoluete is because of shoes.In the past people were barefoot or wore sandals.Today,people wear consticting shoes that also often lead to bunions.This prevents the toes from spreading out as intended and puts more weight on the big toe.
I have two theories about long secondary toes:
1)That while a person with long secondary toes will be successful in society,they may often be dominated at home.Regardless,tell me of any women,with any kind of toes,that isn’t dominate in the home and want everything their way.
2)That long secondary toes indicate genetic dominance.In that they will pass on more dominat genes than someone that doesn’t have long secondary toes.
In summation,people with longer secondary toes tend to be less inclined to depression and apathy.This,in my opinon,is why women with long secondary toes are desired by some men.Plus,healthy feet are far,far more important than most people realize.If you don’t believe me,ask anyone with significant foot problems what it is like to not have healthy feet.

Hi, I noticed this thread on one of my favorite subs so I just had to say something. Like many of the guys have said on here before, I happen to find long toes very attractive and longer 2nd toes are my favorite. There are just some women that have feet that personally to me they represent true works of living art. The way a woman’s foot is structured is very important to a foot fetishist just as much as the size of a woman’s tits are to a man who loves big tits.
To me giving footrubs, sucking a woman’s toes, and foot play is just about as much fun as anyone can have. I don’t think many women would find it too hard to let themselves get foot worshipped by their man, and ya know some may even enjoy it.

My right foot is just about normal, but my left foot I have 4 toes the same size and then one little pinky (being my little toe) It is so weird and I have never seen anyone with a foot like it. My husband takes the p*** out of me and calls me square foot cause it does look square, I have had this since I was little, my parents never bothered and just said I was special.
To be honest I am 30 and very paranoid about it and will not wear sandals or shoes that show my toes etc, or take my shoes off in front of strangers.

I’ve been on this planet now for several decades and it never ceases to amaze me how a certain combination of characteristics can make the female foot so incredibly sexy. We’re talkin’ weak in the knees and hyperventilation at the sight of these very rare feet I’m about to describe. I love a woman to have long, slender toes with flawless skin that barely shows the joints in her toes. one must admit that the perfect pedicured feet , longish, well heeled and having the perfect arches from the ankles towards the toes, a slightly longer second toe, the third toe similar in length to the big toe and descending in length from there to the smallest, would be very pleasing to the eye than a conceptualised feet with decreasing length of toes from the bigger one. the bigger the feet the more sensual it looks to me. insist on one factor - the perfect integral arch of the feet rather than a dysymmetrical shape would be more acceptable. as has been said elsewhere in this forum, this kind of woman generally shows a positive attitude and is rather aggressive .

Wow, I am shocked, I have hated this longer second toe of mine for years, thinking I was a freak. I would look at people’s feet and wish that my toes were like theirs, now I am not so sure. I visited the new museum in Delphi Greece in 2004 and they had some mini carvings and some life size carvings of feet, I also paid attention to the statues and all the feet, both Male and Female had longer second toes. My brother and I both have longer second toes, Mum also has the same and Dad only slightly. Here I was thinking I was the only one paying attention and that guys would be looking at my feet thinking that they were freakish. I feel better now even though I don’t know any of you. I spent years having a complex about my toes. My second toe ia larger than my first, and then again my fourth toe is much smaller than my pinky toe. I would hide my feet, never wear sandals, and anyone who saw my feet would laugh and giggle at them and tell me I was a freak. Lately I have come to accept and love them. I know I got the long second toe from my father, and it makes me proud to see the physical similarities between me and my dearly loved father. I also heard that the second big toe was a sign of intelligence, and gladly believed that. Whatever the reason is, now I am proud and love my different looking feet. It makes me original, and if people cannot accept that, then that says more about them than me. I like the way I am, and I do not consider them a flaw, but I think they make me special.

Holy crrrap, theres alot of people who comment on this, this is useful, me and my friend are having this argument about who’s normal, I’ll pick a select few that support my beautifully long toed feet

Grew up loving womens toes in the Midwest, got a scholarship to the West Coast and could not be happier. I love women’s sexy feet and long toes. Big feet too. So much so, I started my own website catering to somehting not out there much and something I love. Webmasters have jumped on board, but being a disctiminating footman. I only shoot the best. When I do model casting only about 4% have the long toes that my cutomers. or I like. My venie is an opportunity to celebrate and share what this blog is all about. Sexy long toes.

I had one girfriend, her left second toe was longer then her big toe, and on her right foot, her second toe WASN’T longer.
Once I had a friend, her fourth toes were the longest.
The best are ones they have two, three, AND four toes, ALL longer then her big toe.

i have long toes, my 2nd and 3rd are pretty much the same length and my 4th is just a little shorter than my great toe!! i dont really mind how it looks but makes it hard to wear heels– changes the pressure spot on my feel and kills after an hour!! Fashion is not for the long toed lady!! I always have a finger replacement if in an accident!!
