The End of the World
February 25th, 2004
If you trust the people at Channel 4 here in Los Angeles… Tonight is going to be the end of Los Angeles, as we know it.
The rain is coming. But not just any rain storm.
“The worst mega-storm since the disaster of December 2003!”
“People are frantically building walls with sandbags to protect their homes from disaster!”
“It is coming… Sweeping into Los Angeles like a bat out of hell! (Huh?)
“If you’ve got a HAZMAT suit, you’d better get it ready…”
I love it. Only in Los Angeles.

If I’m still alive tomorrow, I’ll post something funny.

One word: Rescuecopter.

I’ll be watching for you to float by. Of course, San Diego will be the next to go, so I’m readying the ark.
By the way, why are the typepad sites so friggin slow right now?

Apparently there’s a “hardware issue” causing “sluggishness”.
It’s the rain in Los Angeles that is causing it, I’m sure.

A rainstorm in LA is like a snowstorm elsewhere! Up here in SF/Berkeley, it rained like hell this morning. A few manhole covers flew off on our street, due to water pressure.
I took my dachshunds out for a walk — one of them ran off the sidewalk and had to swim back to the curb.
Get the candles and drinking water ready!

That sluggishness just got us 3 days free of the service. That’ll be enough to buy a quarter gallon of gas for the generator.
