Big Fish and My Fish

December 12th, 2003

Big Fish, the new film by Tim Burton opened last Wednesday here in Los Angeles and in New York; that is until December 25th when I think it opens much wider. It’s a movie I’ve been waiting to see (and hopefully will tonight) for a few reasons. First and foremost, it’s produced by the team behind American Beauty and written by John August and directed by Tim Burton. Finally, from what I hear, the bad taste that was left in our mouth by Marky Mark and the Planet of the Apes will disappear. This movie is supposed to be…

Magical…

Celebrity Mole Yucatan

December 11th, 2003

Time for a shameless plug.

Celebrity Mole Yucatan for which I was a writer/producer will be premiering on ABC, Wednesday January 7th at 10PM PST. The show, which has a bunch of well-known but maybe not so A-list celebrities includes: Dennis Rodman (NBA), Ananda Lewis (MTV VJ), Mark Curry (Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper), Keshia Knight Pulliam (The Cosby Show), Tracey Gold (Growing Pains), Stephen Baldwin (The Usual Suspects), Angie Everhart (Model) and Corbin Bernsen (L.A. Law).

The first episode will follow what I’m sure will be a very disturbing and gross-out episode of Extreme Makeover which airs prior to the show at 9PM PST. Go go gadget lipo!

Paul Davidson on The Oprah Winfrey Show

December 11th, 2003

I was taking a nap this morning throughout all the hammering and drilling and punching holes in my ceiling and I woke up from a dream in which I was on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The transcripts, which cannot be ordered from anywhere, are here for you, below:

Oprah: If you thought the episode, “Oprah’s Favorite Things” in which we gave our studio audience presents and items worth a total of one-point-five million dollars was amazing, today will blow your socks off.

Audience laughs, claps.

Blow Up Beds

December 11th, 2003

It’s so early and I’m so fatigued right now that I can hardly type, which was the cause of the initial title of this entry mistakenly being dubbed as Blow Up Beads which immediately brings to mind some whacky new Los Angeles invented sexual bead activity that, deep down (no pun intended), I think would be tauted as the most relaxing and painful experience, but which would allow you to Lose 10 lbs. in less than five minutes!.

The previous sentence will be my official entry into the 2004 Run On Sentence Competition.

Don’t ask. Like I said, it’s early.

NPR’s All Things Considered

December 10th, 2003

NPR is an interesting beast. All at once it’s corporate, independent, timely, a time-waster and a highly-intelligent machine that provides news, opinion and humor to all the country, and parts of the World.

I guess I can be currently considered a commentator for the NPR program All Things Considered as I recently had a piece air in November on the show called Whither the Jingle. It was my so-called commentary on how we no longer have cool jingles in society and in the media; that all those classic jingles (Connect Four, Slinky, Pepsi, et al) have been tossed aside instead, for licensed music.
