The sugar high has got my head spinning.
Cookies. Brownies. Ice-cream. Cream-puffs. Candy canes. Chocolates. Gum. And a hundred other things I forget the names of.
I have eaten all of them.
It doesn’t surprise me that people in Chicago are fatter than people in Los Angeles. When you live in a really, really, really cold location — you need the extra fat to keep you warm. I have, although visited the gym twice this week already, begun to morph. I must stop the changes.
The last few days have been spent eating here in Joliet, Illinois. Some socializing while drinking apple flavored, warmed beverages, but mostly eating. I long for a protein-rich dinner that involves no bread or sugar.
On the other hand, I scored a huge bounty of presents. From the world of music, an iPod case called the iSkin and the iTrip (which allows you to wirelessly stream your iPod music to any FM dial). DVD’s? Try the extended edition of Lord of the Rings, Two Towers and Finding Nemo. Don’t forget some great gift certificates, a videogame for XBOX and a bunch of other knick-knacks. Good stuff.
Let no man say I’m not a fan of all things electronic.
Meanwhile, at the homestead, the parents have been watching Jack — and although they say he’s already forgotten his real family (us), I think they’re just jealous.
I’ll be back on Saturday, ready to get going on a brand-new year. Happy New Year to all of you (if there are any of you).
